Deaf group guides for free of charge at old castle park

A free sign language guide activity for Deaf visitors in the old castle park in Ueda-shi, Nagano Prefecture has been begun in in April.

The guide group was formed by members of the city association of the Deaf in February, 2015, consisting of 16 Deaf persons and interpreters.

One of the generals in the Age of Warring States, named Sanada Nobushige (Yukimura) is a main character in the NHK roman drama titled "Sanadamaru" was from Ueda-shi, and the tourist who visits the old Ueda castle park is increasing.

When a Deaf tourist visited the park at the middle of April, a sign language tour guide was provided. He has visited about three times up to now, but he went around with a sign language guide for the first time. "I indeed understood history of the Sanada family well. It was also fun to communicate with a guide."
