Deaf soccer player wins a gold medal

Furushima Keita-san was selected to the national soccer team.

He is a senior majoring in business administration at Setsunan University in Osaka Prefecture, and currently researches on trucking business as an academic study required.

Furushima-san participated in the 7th Asia-Pacific Deaf Sports Conference held from May 26 to June 2 in Seoul, South Korea and won a gold medal as a soccer team player.

For the achievement, the Japanese team also has been qualified to participate in the Deaflympics which is scheduled in 2013.

Furushima-san will participate also in the World Deaf Soccer Championship held in Turkey next month.
